I grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Literature. I worked in state government and eventually received a position at the Innocence Project of Texas. I was inspired to attend law school to directly help people with their legal matters. I graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2013. I became a public defender in Colorado Springs after law school where I represented clients charged with everything from traffic offenses to serious felonies. I first-chaired over 30 jury trials. I eventually left the public defenders' office to start my own law practice in Boulder. I enjoy volunteering with local nonprofit organizations in order to improve our community.

          In my free time, I enjoy exploring Colorado's beautiful outdoors with my family.
